Sunny Skies Child Care facility offers children from 30 months to 5 years old an active environment suited for exploration, adventure and fun under responsible supervision to encourage age appropriate independence. Our program will boost children’s confidence by learning through meaningful interaction, repetition and by challenging them in their learning environments.
Every day will be filled with conversation. If English is not your child’s first language, I also speak Tagalog, French, Spanish, and American Sign Language, enough to communicate with your child. I am also willing to learn phrases in your language to ease any discomfort your child may feel. Music, in my opinion is the universal language that unites people of all backgrounds. There will definitely be a lot of singing, playing and dancing to music with me.
I am grateful to call Squamish home, and respectfully acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh nation. I intend on involving the children within the community, leaving no trace, and learning about the gifts of the land. We welcome parents and guardians to join us on our outdoor excursions first thing in the morning to experience what and how your child is exploring their surroundings as well as any field trips around Squamish. On occasion, my husband, Justin, will also be actively supervising on field trips via public transit as well.
As a registered, licensed, residential child care centre, Sunny Skies Family Child Care is complete with the comfort of a home, the safety of a school, and the freedom of learning in a small group. I have had the privilege of experiencing life alongside my children for the past 7 years. I would love to extend the same privilege with up to 7 children under my care. Weekday mornings at the library, or pool, grocery shopping for our kitchen activity, riding the bus, or interviewing the community helpers of the local fire hall are just a few of the regular activities we’ll be doing during our time together. At the facility, we’ll enjoy sensory activities on the sunny front patio, or arts and crafts on the back covered patio, bang on pots and pans on the music wall of the side yard, build a railway in the learning room, or lie on our backs watching the stars shine on the ceiling of the quiet room.
